Date [1391] Description [February 2] The Rental of All Saints' church written on the feast of the Purification of B.V.M., 14 Richard 2. In the name of God Amen. This memorial of the houses and rents from ancient time granted to God and the service of the [parish] church is extracted from the [muniments, deleted] Charters, muniments and testaments in the possession [possessed, deleted] of the church, in perpetual memory. It was also renewed at Purification.. A.D. 1383 by John Aschton', carpenter, and John Corvor, mason', as an example and instruction to all their successors, in order that they may frequently supervise this business: As soon as the tenants written below may die or be changed, the names of the new tenants are to be inscribed forthwith, lest the church on account of negligence or defect by the proctors for the time being lose the rents written below, as their predecessors caused them to be lost; to the great peril of their souls, and no small damage of the church. Therefore from negligence or defect of this kind let everyone beware in his office etc. John de Yate left in his Will, to God and the service of the church of All Saints, 4s. yearly rent to be paid on his ten. in Cornstret, beside the cemetery and the land of John Plumbar'; extending from Cornstret in front to the land which was of Geoffrey Cormanger behind. Tenant now: Walter Derby. Alice Halye left .. her house in Bristol Street [?] (vico Bristoll') opposite the Drapery between the ten. formerly of Walter de Monte on N. and the land late of Laurence le Mercer on S.; extending from the street in front to the land late of Peter of Worcester behind. The house is granted to Alice sometime wife of Walter Burgeys, for life, by demise and consent of all the parishioners, paying yearly £3 to the church. Joce Regny gave .. by charter 2s. 6d. yearly rent of assize coming from his ten. in the cemetery opposite the south door, payable on All Saints' Day. Stephen. Feoffee is to pay Robert half a pound of cumin yearly at Michaelmas for all services etc. In cons. of 20s. sterling paid. Warranty against all mortals.
