Hello Daniel I am researching Robert Silk b. 1826 Hatherop, Glos. I believe your 1841 cencus to be his family, and to have found him in 1841 at Stanford, Southrop, Glos. I believe he married Ellen Davis b. 1836, Kemble. Ellen Davis was the sister of my G Grandfather, William Davis b. 1841, Kemble. Making him my G G Uncle, by marriage. Children: James, Mary A, Jane, Richard, Caroline, Ellen Bridget. Places: Sarsdon Oxfordshire, and Aldsworth Glos. Any of this info. ring any bells with you?
I dont really know anything about the Silk's in Gloucester other than what I have found and posted already But with a forum like this it just a matter of us all posting up as much info as we can, so we can all help each other piece together the big Silk family tree ;D

lizjames: If anybody has a link to the Silk family that eventually lived in Blaina Gwent or Monmouthshire, the Silk commission for Welsh Devolution was written by a member of this branch of the family. Sir Paul Silk.
