[Fostons Ash, Slad Road, The Camp, Nr Birdlip, Glouc.] The Isaac Silk family owned the Fostons Ash Inn/pub from the 1832 Electoral Roll until 1890 when his son Jacob Silk of Cheltenham sold it to the Nailsworth Brewery. 1908 the Nailsworth Brewery was amalgamated with the Cheltenham Original Brewery and was closed. Isaac was a tenant farmer in Cranham, close to the Inn. There are a couple references to Isaac in connection with court cases listing what was stolen from the Fostons.
