Annie Silk] enlisted on 2 Jun 1917 in the National Guard at Cleveland, Ohio; Birth Place - Calne, England; age 22 5/12 years; Assigns Comment: Battery A 1 Cavalry ONG to --: Headquarters Company 135 Field Artillery to death. Private Defensive Sector. American Expeditionary Forces 28 Jun 1918 to death. Died of broncho pneumonia 27 Jan 1919. Notified Mrs. Rose F. Silk, wife, 1899 W. 52nd St., Cleveland, O. [Ernest Albert Silk is buried at a churchyard in France. His widow, Rose F. (Bailey) Silk and son, Alben Frederick Silk, returned to England, resided Burton-On-Trent.]
