Just discovered this forum - excellent! My Silks go back to around 1780 in Nether Whitacre, about ten miles from Birmingham. There were around eighty Silks there, all decended from one couple, John Silk / Sarah......? John and Sarah were already married with two daughters when they arrived in Whitacre and have been been able to trace where they originated from.

So excited at having found this forum, I mistyped end of my post - should have been 'I have so far been unable to trace where they originated from'.

Hi Steve, Just been re-reading your post Could you maybe try starting a thread here silkfamily.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=silkfamily giving a bit more info on your branch of the family, such and names, dates, location and such. The more info we can all post, the better! that way we might be able to find connections between different branches. Thanks!
