Hi David. Great site. My name is Barry Ronald Silk of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. I’ve started a Silk family tree for our family branch at ancestry.ca dating back to the early 1700s in England. It appears are roots are from the Frome, Nunney, Marston Bigot areas early on. The latest generations are from Alnwick, Northumberland, England area. With my son, our branch of Silk's now go back 12 generations with the 12th being (John Silk = Edith Silk) of Whatley. Hopefully this information will link us to many other Silk’s and new families yet TBD.
Our Silk family is now connected by marriage to the Newport, Coxhardy (or Hillier), Carpenter, Rabbits, Young, Pile, Weatherson, Sneath, Rice, Muckle, Kendall, Johnson, St Clair, Van Oene, Deschamp, Barwell, Verhaeghe, and Kachanoski families.

Sanitary Districts were established in England and Wales in 1875 and in Ireland in 1878. The districts were of two types, based on existing structures:
