1644 Thomas Silke of Cullompton (b.Dublin) married Jane Hard.

Vicar of North Molton, Devon 1695. He died 5 January 1704/05.

Christian, wife of James, buried Buckland Filleigh 9 June 1745 aged 59 years.

James Silke buried 15 April 1754 aged 67 years.

Nicholas, son of James, buried Buckland Filleigh 10 April 1749 aged 26 years.

James left properties – Chalhanger in Buckland Filleigh and Battledown in Shebbear to his son James.

James the younger died at Chalhanger 5 March 1780 aged 57 years. His son John baptised 20 August 1760, died 27 February 1807 aged 46 years.

Angel Silke, son of Angel, was born Sonninghill, Berkshire February 1726/27. He was at Eton 1736-44, matriculated Clare College, Camb. 1746. BA 1750. Rector of Assington, Suffolk 1764.

Thomas Silke of Bedminster in Somerset married Experience, daughter of John Hippesleigh, merchant, of Bristol in 1589.
Also they had a son Angel, born at Netherbury, Dorset in 1612 who married Catherine daughter of Eliza Mason of Beaminster, Dorset. Angel & Catherine sailed to Boston, America, in 1634, returned to England and Ireland within ten years: their son Thomas was born in Dublin in 1644. Angel and his wife returned to Boston in the 1660s where he died in 1670.
His son Thomas married Jane (Hand or Hard) of Chew Magna. This Thomas was possibly curate of Buckland Brewer in Devon in 1679. He also had a daughter Jane born in 1683. His second son William who was also born in Chew Magna (1676) was later an attorney in Torrington, Devon.
